The Brief
Valued repeat client, Hertfordshire County Council required a pro-active interior fit out company at short notice, to refurbish Nightingale House, Elderly Care Centre so E.I. projects were keen to ‘step up to the plate’. The brief was complicated by the need to internally re-model the building to provide a separate Youth Connections Facility.
Project Proposal
The project proposal involved understanding the individual requirements and aspirations of two extremely diverse user groups.
For the Youth Connections, a Media Suite with Consultation Rooms and dedicated WC & Baby Change was created, along with a chill out Lounge and bespoke storage solutions. Dimmable, low energy, LED lighting through- out, further enhanced the versatility of the newly formed spaces.
The Elderly Care Centre benefitted from a new Group Lounge, a new- fully fitted Treatment Room, refurbished corridors with LST radiators & bespoke storage.
We were also proud to be entrusted with forming a complete Changing Places Facility to provide sufficient space and equipment for people who are not able to use a disabled WC independently. The facility offers the levels of safety, comfort and dignity that all citizens are entitled to whilst living and moving around within the community. Fully accessible to the public and the first of its kind in Hitchin, the facility will be added to the rapidly expanding Changing Places database.
